We have just returned from a week at Kokomo and can’t say enough about the paradise we feel we have found. The location is spectacular – from the white sand and green/blue waters, to the breathtaking vista of stars to view at night (from the patio hot tub with glass of wine in hand – does it get ANY BETTER THAN THAT???). The shallow waters were perfect for our young girls to play in, and finding starfish, sand dollars and coral just capped off the experience for them. The fact that you are not sharing your paradise with 948 other tourists makes it that much more enjoyable. You can truly sit and breathe in the serenity…and feel it right down to your toes. As for the rental house? It was fantastic – and is exactly like the photos. Lovely and clean, and well appointed with everything we needed – we felt instantly at home and cared for it as we would our own place. You can’t beat the convenience of having a house right on the beach – no “running all the way back to your hotel room” for the book you meant to bring down to the beach, or the sunglasses you left on the desk. It’s all right there. We headed into town many times for things like groceries (expensive but you just keep it simple), baked goods (delicious little bakery), or to get our little girls hair braided (they were THRILLED! just went to a hair salon – cheap). A fantastic little place nearby to snorkel was Mermaid Reef – we just parked by the side of the road and the beach (and reef) is right there. The fish were awesome! We also took the ferry over to Hopetown to wander it a bit – very picturesque. There is a historical lighthouse to climb, and then you can have lunch at the marina resort right beside it – enjoy great (and affordable) food and have a swim in the pool. I could fill 10 pages with all the positive feedback I have for this magical destination, fabulous rental and just as importantly, Kathy & Gary who we rented from. They were extremely friendly and efficient with all of our communications while planning this trip, and what was even better is that we were able to meet them in person as they were in Abaco during our stay. Incredibly genuine and welcoming, Kathy & Gary are the kind of people who are just so pleased to have their rentals enjoyed and respected by good vacationers. They were lovely to get to know, and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and gave us lots of advice on destinations and outings. They are exactly the kind of people you want to rent from, and you can feel confident you will get the holiday to want for the money you spend. We are already booking for next year – that should be enough proof that we couldn’t have been happier with our choice of vacation. Thank you Kathy & Gary!!

Our stay at Kokomo was the perfect romantic getaway – it was absolutely amazing! The house was immaculate, and more than well stocked with everything from spices in the kitchen to a great variety of movies to towels and linens and dishes and cooking supplies…. there was pretty much nothing we needed. Having the skiff to explore the cay was incredible! We found great places to snorkel and do some swimming in the most amazing azure water. We were amazed by the speed of the many sea turtles that we came across! Kathy and Gary were amazing hosts, and they happened to be down there at the same time. They came by and personally made sure we were settled and had everything we needed. The island was great to explore. The locals were super friendly, and readily gave us directions to what we were seeking. We discovered our new favorite drink … the Conky Joe Special at Conky Joe’s in Marsh Harbor… made with Bahama Coconut Rum, it was delicious! We paired it with conch fritters…. yummy! We ate at two other restaurants and they were great. If you are looking for a rental that is away from the crowds of a resort, someplace where you can put your feet up and enjoy a cocktail while enjoying the wonderful Bahama breeze as you gaze over the cay and ocean. Abaco Palms property is the place to go. We give it absolutely a 5 star rating!

Stayed at Kokomo the last week in March, 2015 to celebrate our 40th anniversary. The house, the location, the scenery, and the amenities, could not have been better for a perfect “get away from it all” vacation. We have been to Cabo, St. Martin, Puerto Rico, Cancun, etc. and no where compares to Casuarina Point. We loved getting out on the boat and kayaks to explore around the area then coming back to the house to relax. We ordered a couples massage one day, I we highly recommend Celisha, who came to the house and did a great job. Ate dinner a couple of nights at the Sandpiper Inn in Schooner Bay and got a personal tour of the whole development with the general manager,James Malcolm. The food there was fabulous, and Schooner Bay is magnificent, a must see. Also ate dinner one night at the Delphi Club, which is on Kathy’s recommended list of restaturants. That was truly a great experience where we met so many interesting people sharing a 5 star meal and facility. Also took a day trip over to Hopetown, had lunch at the Abaco Inn, and walked all over town, which we highly recommend. To top it all off, I caught my first Bonefish just down the beach from the house on Friday. Now I am really hooked on this place!! If you truly want to get away, or take your family on an adventurous vacation, Abaco Palms is the place to go.
