From water adventures to island exploration, discover all the activities available during your stay.

The Casuarina Point Experience

One of the best things about staying at our properties is what you can do right from your doorstep. No driving, no planning - just walk out and enjoy!

Kayaking & Paddle Boarding

Explore the calm, crystal-clear waters right in front of our properties. Equipment is provided at each house - just grab a kayak or paddle board and head out! Paddle along the shoreline, explore the mangroves, or venture out to the nearby sandbars.

Tip: A great way to spot rays, sea turtles, and tropical fish. Stay close to shore if winds pick up.

Beach Snorkeling

The waters right off our beach have excellent snorkeling. Swim out from shore and discover tropical fish, sea fans, and marine life in the crystal-clear shallows. Take the skiff to snorkel the many reefs in the area.

Tip: Bring your own mask for best fit. Reef-safe sunscreen only! The best visibility is on calm mornings. Wade out to about chest-deep water and start exploring.

Boating

Each of our properties comes with a Carolina Skiff for your use during your stay. Explore the coastline, visit nearby beaches, or head out for a fishing trip. Casuarina point offers endless possibilities right from your home.

Tip: Review our boat safety and orientation information in our Guest Resources guide. Always check weather and tides before heading out.

Shelling

Walk the beach at low tide and discover beautiful shells washed up on shore. The beaches around Casuarina Point offer sand dollars, conch shells, sea glass, and more. A perfect activity for all ages.

Tip: Early morning after high tide often has the best finds. Bring a mesh bag for collecting. Live shells should stay in the water!

Shore Fishing

Cast a line right from our beach. You might catch dinner! The flats around Casuarina Point hold bonefish, permit, and other species. A relaxing way to spend an afternoon without needing a guide.

Tip: Early morning and late afternoon are best. Bring polarized sunglasses to spot fish in the flats. Check Bahamas fishing regulations.

Abaco Adventures

Beyond Casuarina Point, Abaco offers incredible day trip adventures. Book with a local guide or take your boat to explore the islands.

Swimming with Pigs

Visit the famous swimming pigs at No Name Cay! These friendly pigs will swim right up to your boat hoping for treats. The island now features the Swimming Pigs Bar and Restaurant (Big O's - opened in 2021) for refreshments after your pig encounter. BE CAREFUL - the pigs can bite!

Tip: Go early to avoid crowds. Bring apples or vegetables to feed them. Book a boat tour from Marsh Harbour or ask your fishing guide to include it in a trip. Combine with snorkeling and island hopping!

Mermaid Reef Snorkeling

One of the best snorkeling spots in Abaco, Mermaid Reef features vibrant coral formations and abundant tropical fish. You can swim from the short to Mermaid Reef (on Pelican Shores in Marsh Harbour). Sandy Cay nearby offers a beautiful beach for a break. Both are accessible by boat from Marsh Harbour.

Tip: Book with a local guide who knows the reefs, or take your boat from Marsh Harbour (about 25 min from Casuarina). Reef-safe sunscreen only! Ask JR or Charles Albury about snorkeling trips.

Island Hopping

Hop between the beautiful out islands of Abaco by boat. Visit Hope Town with its candy-striped lighthouse, Man-O-War Cay for boat-building history, or Great Guana Cay for Nipper's legendary beach bar. Each island has its own unique character.

Tip: You can book a guide, or rent a boat in Marsh Harbour to explore the Sea of Abaco. Pack snacks and sunscreen for a full day of exploration. The ferries from Marsh Harbour are another option for visiting the cays.

Conching

Hunt for fresh conch in the shallow waters around Abaco. Local guides can take you to the best spots and show you how to clean and prepare your catch for the freshest conch salad you'll ever taste.

Tip: Conch season has limits - check current Bahamas regulations. Ask JR or Charles Albury about conching trips. It's a unique experience you won't forget!...and they make THE BEST conch salad!

Island Exploration

Beyond the beach, Abaco offers fascinating natural wonders, historic sites, and day trip opportunities. Explore caves, visit charming out islands, or discover the wild beauty of South Abaco with an experienced local guide.

Blue Holes & Caves

Mysterious inland sinkholes perfect for swimming. The Blue Hole around Casuarina Point, in Cherokee Sound, are easily accessible with our skiffs. For deeper exploration, Sawmill Sink, Ralph's Cave, and Dan's Cave offer unforgettable experiences with a guide.

Tip: Bring water shoes. The paths can be rocky. Guided tours recommended for caves.

Hope Town & Elbow Cay

Charming colonial village with the iconic candy-striped lighthouse. Take the ferry from Marsh Harbour for a full day of exploring shops, restaurants, and beautiful beaches.

Tip: Plan for a full day. Great restaurants and shops. Don't miss the lighthouse!

Man-O-War Cay

Traditional boat-building community with beautiful beaches. No cars, no bars - just peaceful island life and friendly locals.

Tip: Rent a golf cart to explore. Visit Albury's Sail Shop for handmade bags.

Hole in the Wall Lighthouse

Historic lighthouse built in 1836 at the southern tip of Abaco. The rugged drive through South Abaco offers stunning scenery and a glimpse of old Bahamas.

Tip: Best visited with a guide who knows the roads. Bring water and snacks.

Abaco National Park

Home to the endangered Abaco Parrot. The park protects pine forests and wildlife unique to the Bahamas. Bird watching is exceptional here.

Tip: Early morning is best for parrot sightings. Guided tours available.

Activity Tips

Reef-Safe Sunscreen Only

Protect the coral reefs by using reef-safe sunscreen. Regular sunscreen chemicals damage the fragile reef ecosystems we all love.

Book Guides Early

Popular guides book up fast, especially during peak season. Contact them before your trip to secure your preferred dates.

Morning is Best

Kayaking, snorkeling, and beach activities are best in the early morning when waters are calmest and heat is manageable.

Check Ferry Schedules

Day trips to Hope Town, Man-O-War, and Guana Cay depend on ferry schedules. Check times in advance and plan for a full day.
