Where to Rent or Purchase Fishing & Snorkeling Gear

There are several places in Marsh Harbour that sell fishing gear.  The most complete that I know of is Island Boy Tackle and Marine.   Island Boy Tackle is the only place I know of that RENTS fishing gear.  (If you know of another – please email me and I will include it.)  They are located over Jamie’s Place Restaurant.  Jamie’s Place is labeled on the marked map I will be sending you in your package with the key, maps, etc.  It is on Front Street past the restaurants and shopping, and it is on your left. Island Boy’s phone is:  242-367-3228; cell:  242-357-6670.  Kevin Sawyer is the owner, and you can also email him at:  He knows his tackle and can give you the best advice!

Island Boy Tackle also rents snorkeling and diving gear.  Email or call ahead to reserve.

The 2 main Hardware Stores sell some fishing gear, also.  Abaco Hardware is on your left in town when you come from Casuarina Point.  To find Standard Hardware you continue to the traffic light and turn right, and Standard will be on your right, one block down.  Another place that sells fishing gear is National Marine – located on Queen Elizabeth Drive acroos from Standard Hardware.
Abaco Hardware sells Hawaiian Slings and some snorkeling gear, too.
Dive Abaco, by the Conch Inn on Front Street in Marsh Harbour, rents Diving and Snorkeling Gear.  After you pass Snappas and Mangoes on Front Street, look for the Conch Inn on your left and you will find Dive Abaco just past the Curly Tails/Conch Inn parking lot.  Dive Abaco also offers lessons in Scuba and Snorkeling, and they offer Scuba Certification.  You can also check with them for Island Tours, Sunset Cruises and Private Charters.  To make a reservation from the US – or from our Internet phones at our houses call:  800.247.5338.  Their local phone number is: 242.367.2787.  Here is a link to their web site:
You can buy BAIT at ‘The Fish House’  (see ‘where to buy seafood in Abaco’) , and Maxwells (grocery store) sells squid in the frozen seafood section.
